Our Building to Serve capital campaign and stewardship campaign concluded June 4. We have received gifts or pledges totalling over $833,000, and support continues to come in. Thank you to all who are giving generously! Having a firm number allows us to make firm plans. Over the summer, an Ad Hoc Building Committee worked hard revising the design. The master plan was divided into phases, with Phase I matched to the results of the capital campaign. On August 22, Church Council voted to accept the new Phase I plan for a $1.1 million project achieving several of our goals and laying the groundwork (literally!) for future construction. For some details of the plan, which will serve our congregation and community better, see p. 13 of our September/October newsletter.
What’s next? We will be sharing information during worship and at open meetings 10:45am Sunday, September 24, and 7:00pm Wednesday, September 27. We are scheduling a Church Conference for October to approve the plan… and then construction can start spring 2018!
