“You who live in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.’” –Psalm 91:1-2
Our church is always willing to provide a Stephen Minister to connect with anyone who needs a caring supportive Christian visitor. These confidential visits may be short or long term depending on your needs. However, you don’t even have to be a Stephen Minister to connect with someone who is hurting. For example, many of us know someone dealing with cancer or another serious illness and don’t know how to help them. The short answer is “Just ask!” Too often people are either forgotten or perhaps oversupplied with things they don’t need, i.e. too many flowers or hot dishes. A better response would be, “What can we do right now? Do you need any meals, or help with transportation, or someone to run errands—or something else? We’d really like to help.”
So if you would like to know more about Stephen Ministry, Just Ask by contacting the church office (783-3380), or Stephen Leader, Nancy Quinlisk, at (608) 792-5603.
CareNotes are also available on the Stephen Minister bulletin board outside the Heritage Room. CareNotes offer information on a variety of topics such as grieving the loss of loved ones; living with cancer; and dealing with stress. Check out what’s happening with Stephen Ministry on their bulletin board.
You can recognize our trained Stephen Ministers at church by their blue Stephen Ministry name tags. Any of them can answer your questions about Stephen Ministry.
NEW Training Class starting soon! If you would like to learn more about this, you can talk to Elli Molstad (608-799-8327) or pick up an application in the office.
