Walk through Holy Week at Onalaska UMC. Join us for these powerful, moving services…
Palm Sunday, March 25
8:30am & 11:00am… “March Madness 30A.D.” The emotional roller coaster of the NCAA tourney has nothing on Jesus in Jerusalem – from hero to zero in one week. The children lead a parade of palms at both services.
Wednesday, March 28
7:30pm… “Shadows of the Cross.” Our SOAR jr. kids present a shadow version of the stations of the cross.
Holy Thursday, March 29
6:30pm… “Love at the Last.” Jesus loves his disciples to the end. Love is the hallmark of Christians. Open communion is served family style, and the choir sings.
Good Friday, March 30
8:00pm… “Service of Darkness.” A somber reading of John’s account of Jesus’ arrest and crucifixion in a darkened sanctuary. A moving reminder of what Jesus endured for our sakes, and how the light of the world was put to death.
Easter Sunday, April 1
6:30am… “Up From the Grave.” Our confirmation students plan and lead this sunrise service as we greet the new day with the news of Jesus’ resurrection.
8:30am… “Can I Get a Witness?” Hundreds of people saw the risen Christ. We continue to experience Jesus today. A celebration of Easter with powerful music, the choir, and open communion.
9:30am… Easter Brunch fundraiser for the youth mission trip
11:00am… “Can I Get a Witness?” Hundreds of people saw the risen Christ. We continue to experience Jesus today. A celebration of Easter with powerful music and open communion.
