Worship for Sunday, December 6, 2020 (Advent; Home 2)

For Sunday, December 6, Rev. Lourdes Magalhaes preaches “Home Improvement,” based on Mark 1:1-8. There’s been a boom in home renovation during the pandemic. When we stare at these old walls, we recognize they need repair. In this time of preparation, we also need to fix up the house of our soul, that we may be at peace as we wait for Christ.. This is the second in our shared Advent/Christmas series, “Home for Christmas.”

Pastor Park leads prayers. Jessica Gobel visits during the children’s moment. We are commissioning new Stephen Leaders during the God Moment!

We celebrate communion during this service. All are welcome to participate! Please have something to eat and drink prepared to represent Christ – bread and grape juice or wine are traditional.

Sandy Koster, Doug Huggett, Kelly Maloney-Wang, and Renee Kastenschmidt lead hymns and special music at the 8:30a Classic service. The Noteworthy Bells will offer special music. The Ramsay family light the Advent wreath.

Zoe de Boer, Melissa de Boer, and Cathy Novy lead music at the 11:00a Praise service. Zoe shares special music. The Sommerville family light the Advent wreath.

Onalaska UMC worship services for this Sunday are available only by live stream on our YouTube channel. Please don’t come to church. Instead, stay at home and “praise in place!”
