Worship for Sunday, December 20, 2020 (Advent; Home 4)

Mary visits Elizabeth
“Mary visits Elizabeth ‘the child in my womb leaped for joy'” by Michael Torevell; available from FineArtAmerica.

For Sunday, December 20, Rev. Angie Utter of the Darlington & Fayette UMCs preaches “Loving Home,” based on Luke 1:26-38. An angel brings impossible good news to Mary – she will bear the Son of God! Jesus is born into a loving home. Love is opening our hearts to the possible impossibilities of God. This is the fourth in our shared Advent/Christmas series, “Home for Christmas.”

The Clements family lights the Advent wreath. Pastor Bruce Bartel leads the prayer time. Jessica Gobel shares a Children’s Moment.

Enjoy a special prelude by Cory Groves, and offering music by the Cantata Choir in advance of this afternoon’s Christmas Cantata. Kimberly & Jeff Wadewitz and Kathi Beane lead hymns and special music at the 8:30a Classic service. Zoe de Boer and various guests lead music and share special songs at the 11:00a Praise service.

Onalaska UMC worship services for this Sunday are available only by live stream on our YouTube channel. Please don’t come to church. Instead, stay at home and “praise in place!”
