For Maundy Thursday, April 1, Pastor Park Hunter preaches “The Coach’s Speech” based on John 13:1,31b-35. On the eve of the championship, Jesus gives his team a big speech. Win or lose, lives will be changed, and this night will be remembered. This is the seventh in our Lenten series “March Madness.”
Sandy Koster and Zoe de Boer lead the music.
We have two special worship experiences tonight. In lieu of the traditional foot washing (John 13:3-15), we will take a moment to wash each other’s hands with sanitary wipes. If you are worshipping at home, have a damp cloth ready to wash others’ or your own hands. And for communion later in the service, have something to eat and something to drink to represent Christ’s presence for you (1 Corinthians 11:23-26). Bread and grape juice or wine are traditional. All are welcome to participate.
Onalaska UMC worship services for this Sunday are available by live stream on our YouTube channel. Limited live in-person worship is available by reservation only. Please don’t come to the church unless you booked in advance.
