Worship for Sunday, May 16, 2021 (Butterfly 5; Pentecost)

For Sunday, May 16, Pastor Park Hunter preaches “Beautiful & Bold,” based on Acts 2:1-21. The last stage of metamorphosis – the butterfly fights free of the chrysalis and reveals its beauty. The disciples are transformed at Pentecost and come out swinging. How have we transformed, and how are we emboldened? This is the fifth Sunday in our spring series, “The Butterfly Effect.”

We are observing Pentecost both this Sunday and the next – wear red to mark the occasion. During the Children’s Time, Pastor Park visits Gilda’s garden to see how her metamorphosis is going. Melissa de Boer shares her butterfly COVID experience for the God Moment.

Sandy Koster, Doug Huggett, Kelly Maloney Wang, Kimberly Wadewitz, and Dave Trapp lead hymns at the 8:30a Classic service. Zoe de Boer and a variety of musicians share special music at the 11:00a Praise service.
