Local Missions

2015 Walkers

We want to see the love of God transform our local community in creative, helpful and inspiring ways. And we want to take an active part in it.

To get connected, learn more, or suggest your own idea of how we can help change lives in our community, contact Zoe de Boer, Director of Young People & Mercy Ministries (youth@onalaskaumc.org).

Here are some of the ways we are currently involved in our community…

Programs

Community Dinner is a free, monthly dinner offered to anyone and everyone in the Coulee Region. This dinner is a chance for people to connect, build relationships, and enjoy a delicious meal at no cost. Typically we serve around 150 people. Dinners are 5:00p-6:00p on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.

St. Nicholas Fund offers help, whenever possible, to OUMC members and friends when they run across a difficult time and have an important expense they otherwise could not cover.

Vacation Bible School is all about sharing the love of Jesus in fun and exciting ways with children from the community. Taking place one week every summer, a large number of volunteers team up to provide a fantastic experience for the kids!

Small Groups

Many of our most creative outreach ideas have come out our Small Groups. We encourage all of our groups to include some measure of outward focus. These groups are a great place to get connected and try out new ideas of how we can transform our communities with the love of God.
