Puppets

Onalaska UMC’s puppet ministry gives kids and adults in a fun way to share the Good News. Puppets present the children’s sermon once or twice a month during the school year. Old friends Leo the Lion, the tune-challenged Crow Sisters, and Sven and Ole show up regularly. Sometimes they are joined by guests and new “Sockles” puppets created by the younger kids.

Children in kindergarten and up are invited to participate in puppet ministry. Younger kids make their own sock puppets. Older kids learn skit writing and performance skills, advanced puppetry, and marionettes. All the kids have a chance to perform during worship. This fun group meets Wednesday evenings 5:15-6:00pm September through May. Kids and their families are encouraged to stay for the SOAR dinner at 6:00pm.
